Opened on Ist January 2002. This impressive 18 hole Championship course was designed by Howard Swan - former president of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. He has sensitively applied his philosophy to "create a course as if it has always been there" and Boavista preserves, integrates and harmonises with the natural terrain. The signature hold on the outward nine is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with views to Praia da Luz and the hills at Monchique.

Former World No 1, Nick Price, teamed up with the Golf Course architect Ronald Fream, to create a uniquely-designed 18 hole course with 27 greens that enable golfers to play the same course in several different ways using different greens creating new challenges. An 18 hole round here is reputed to be a real challenge.

Set in a beautiful location in the western Algarve near the historic city of Lagos and commanding magnificent views of the Lagos bay and the distant Monchique hills. The course was designed by the English golf architect Frank Pennink who included 5 Links holes on the dunes close to the Atlantic beach of Meia Praia. Holes of particular note are: the 1st, par 4; the 5th, par 5, the longest and most demanding hole on the course; and the 17th, par 5, this is perhaps the most scenic hole of the course.

This is the first course to have been built in the Algarve. Designed by the late Sir Henry Cotton, it was opened in 1966 and has an 18 hole Championship Course and two 9-hole courses - one of which is home to an excellent Golf Academy. Undoubtedly the birthplace of golf on the Iberian Peninsula, this has been the venue of many presitgious events, including the Portuguese Open. The resort is a member of the Audobon Co-operative Sanctuary System and is dedicated to the protection of wildlife.

The two 18 hole courses at Quinta do Lago offer different challenges. The terrain is similar on both courses, with sandy soil covered with pine trees, heather, broom and many beautiful wild flowers, and gently undulates with several lakes in the play of each course. The layouts test players of all abilities - a sign of good design. The courses are set in the presitigious Quinta do Lago resort and have incredible views.

A Pestana Golf Resort, this course may occupy a serene spot, but playing a round here is anything but serene! Target golf reigns supreme. A drive at the opening hole has to negotiate two water hazards. Silves encourages and rewards attacking play. The course has a natural beauty and an elegant design and its excellent condition is ideal for low scoring. Most holes offer a specacular mountain and valley view, overlooking palm trees and olive groves.

Set in approximately 150 hectares, the Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort is characterised by its beautiful natural surroundings. The 27 hole golf course was designed by Donald Steel and stretches along a wide valley. It is divided into 3 loops with 3 different levels of difficulty - Prime, Challenge and Prestige. It has hosted the Portuguese Open and was presented with the Green Globe Green Flag aware for meeting their environmental requirements. It has also been the winner of the Best Golf Development prize.

The rolling fairways of the Royal Golf Course are set amongst pine trees and beautiful lakes surrounded by wild flowers. The features of the course include the almost island 9th green and the famous 16th, with cliff-top carryover – one of the Algarve's iconic golfing images. Inaugurated in 1997, the Royal Golf Course was designed by top American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, based on original drawings made by Sir Henry Cotton.

The Ocean Golf Course has undulating fairways running alongside the nature reserve, before leading gently down to the Atlantic shores. Its most noteable holes are the two challenging and spectacular Par 4s, the 11th and the 14th – which treat golfers to some of the most spectacular views in the Algarve - and the Par 3 15th, which runs alongside the beach. The Ocean Course is a composite of two of the original 9-hole golf courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton, which were opened in 1968 and 1972 and which merged into the present 18-hole course in 1995.

The 18 hole, Par 72 golf course, was the last to be designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton. The winding fairways and elevated greens reflect Sir Henry’s golfing philosophy of providing low handicap players with a testing game and still affording plenty of enjoyment for players at average club level and providing satisfaction and inspiration for beginners.
